Competition in technical journalism

Hameln, September 2009 On the initiative of hameln group some pupils of the Albert Einstein Grammar School have decided to take part in the competition in technical journalism which is held every year by the ZVEI (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik und Elektroindustrie e.V. [Central Association for Electronic Engineering and the Electrical Industry]).

To this end, pupils from years nine to twelve joined up with other pupils and students from the greater Hanover region to attend a prepared workshop in which the basics of writing and journalistic research were taught. There they carried out independent research in preparation for producing their own copy.

The competition on technical journalism ended in September when the winners were announced and received their awards. Participation in the competition on technical journalism proved successful for two members of AEG: Sven Boettsch, who, in addition to attending school, is actively accumulating journalistic experience at the local Hameln radio station radio aktiv, was able to claim first place in the radio broadcasting category, whilst his fellow pupil Ines Küster shared third place in the ‘Feature Schüler’ category with another pupil from Duisburg.
